The prince of R'n'B Chris Brown is back with his third studio album Graffiti.
This is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, from the one of the youngest, and also the most talented singer in the game.
With the circumstances, that came with Chris this year. Many people wanted him to fail. But failure isn’t a word in the Graffiti dictionary. This album is set to be a Smash hit. With success written all over it.
With the hype that came with his album, a lot of people where expecting a tell-all album, mostly like another version of Ushers hit album, Confessions. But that’s not what we got, instead with got an album that shows how diverse Chris actually is, with songs such as Pass out featuring Eva Simons, that has a dance, retro feel to it. Moving away from his prefect guy image, Chris shows us who he is, a completely normal guy, who has to shed human emotions like the rest of us.
As I said Chris is moving away from his Prefect Guy image, and in song "Take my Time Featuring Tank" brings a new side of him out, a much more sexier version of him, more sexier than previous songs such as Take you Down, and unreleased song Glow in the Dark. With lyrics such as " I got your back up against the wall, I got strength, Wont let you fall, When I make you bloom, like a flower, Babe" Its set the get the girls hearts racing, and prefect baby-making music.
Chris started his Graffiti promotion with first single "I can transform ya Featuring Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz" and a great way to start it. It proved Chris still had the vocal ability, everyone knew he he had. And also his amazing ability to dance. Nobody can doubt the man got skills. "I can transform ya" went into the category of other hits such as "Forever" simply because of its “catchy-ness” and lyrical content.
Everyone expected, and everyone knew songs would be on the album about ex girlfriend and fellow musician Riana, even though Chris didn’t vocally say these songs where about her. But our knowledge suggests that "Crawl, So Cold, and Famous Girl" are about the "Umbrella" singer. These songs showed a loving and affectionate side to Chris, as he expresses his loss. With lyrics such as "everyone says we're through, I hope you haven’t said it too" in "Crawl" and "damn I want my baby back, it's so cold without her" in "So Cold". These songs are also the prefect way to prove that Chris's isn’t all bad, has truly a gentleman.
A Chris Brown album wouldn’t be perfected without some catchy background beats, and songs that can be pumped up in the club.
Brown Skin Girl, featuring Sean Paul, and Girlfriend featuring Lupe Fiasco. (She’s on my LaLaLaLaLa ...) are prefect examples of a prefect Chris Brown tune.
As a progression since his last album "Exclusive" Chris has a pretty impressive line-up, with his close friend Trey Songz, joining in the album, and also The Game, Lupe Fiasco, Eva Simons, Sean Paul, Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne and Plies. As now you thought the album couldn’t get any better, Chris also has Jermaine Jackson help on writing the song What I Do.
Chris is also proving his talent for song writing. Writing just about every song on the album. Other writers including Teyana Taylor, Esther Dean, Luke Boyd, Polow Da Don, Nick Marsh, Warren Felder, Jason Perry and many others.
Other songs that are a great listen are... Lucky me, also my Favourite, creates a relaxed mood, with what sounds like Native American sounds, at the start and also through out the song. Chase Our Love, another catchy chorus “Drinking in London, dancing in Paris, lets chase out love" and also Brown Skin Girl, which features Chris with a very impressive Jamaican accent, and also a feel good song.
Chris put the cherry on top of a great album, by writing a small, but very important thank you note.
Thanks To Jive Records, My Team, My Fans and most of all God.
I recommend this album for anybody in any age group. No lyrics are too explicit for anybody. A Fantastic listens, and sets anybody in a good mood.
I Rate It 5/5, I didn’t expect anything like it. It’s crazy. Thumps up to Chris Breezy. Well Done.
